CheaprEats is a student-focused mobile app that streamlines campus food ordering. Users can browse menus, customize meals, order ahead, and skip waiting in line, making on-campus dining faster, easier, and more affordable.

As a Product Marketing Intern, I collaborated closely with both the Product Marketing Manager and UX Designer, gaining hands-on experience in product strategy and user experience design. I coordinated project timelines, analyzed A/B testing results to uncover user insights, and contributed to the design and iteration of both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes for the vendor's dashboard.

Through stakeholder discussions and research, I identified key pain points such as time-consuming menu updates, limited visibility into inventory status, and the need for quick access to frequently used actions.

To design the vendor dashboard, I followed the Design Thinking framework to create a solution that addressed the operational needs of campus food vendors while improving efficiency and usability.

Ideate

I explored multiple dashboard layouts and navigation structures, prioritizing quick access to core tasks such as managing specials, viewing categories, updating stock availability, and accessing inventory controls. Using concepts focused on minimizing clicks and reducing cognitive load.

Iterate

Feedback from stakeholders and internal team members was used to evaluate usability and identify opportunities for improvement. Iterations focused on simplifying navigation, improving visibility of inventory statuses, and making key actions more accessible.

After my time at Cheapreats, I am proud to say I was able to learn, create, and continuously improve. I designed key components of the website, developed layouts for the vendor dashboard, and supported the collection and synthesis of user research insights.

This was my first UX/product project, and I was excited to contribute meaningfully to the process. I’m especially grateful to everyone who mentored me along the way—teaching me how to use Figma, helping me make sense of complex information, and giving me a deeper appreciation for the field. Their guidance made this experience both rewarding and inspiring.
